So its the end of the month, and where the hell has the start of 2017 gone?! my bank account has definitely seen better days so I've literally refrained myself from spending too much money on things I don't necessarily 'need' though the ABH Modern Renaissance palette was an exception, and I actually have a full review on my last post here (so go check it out!) with last month being Christmas/New Year and this month being my birthday, i've literally been wiped out, but have found myself heading back to old favourites which I guess is a plus.
Modern Renaissance Palette
This has been a firm go-to since I purchased it at the start of the month, honestly the diversity in this palette is unreal, it's so pigmented and varied in colour you cannot get bored of creating looks for both day & night. You can see a more full review as mentioned above^ but I cannot see myself getting bored of this little beauty. The palette is in such high demand its forever on the waitlist at Cult Beauty so join it now to avoid disappointment!
I use to use this quite a bit, but I found it quite fiddly and not very easy to apply as it will literally just fall out everywhere.. having surpassed that and realising patience is key if you want to attempt to perfect your face i've found my love for it again, and have been using it religiously! its so good for 'baking' and also leaving an overall flawless finish at the end of make-up application..
why why why have I never had this before? I think the prospect of spending £16 on a sponge through me, and up until I purchased it I was happy using my Morphe G4 brush, but this has been a gamechanger and now I literally understand why everyone goes nuts over it, I can't see myself switching back.. if anything i'll be buying more.
I purchased this last year when I was studying makeup at college and some of the girls had been raving about it, at the time it was way too dark for my skin.. even as a contour so it had been left in my concealer draw up until this month when I needed a slightly dark contour colour, I love it! Its so moisturising and a little goes a long way as its so dark, the perfect base for a contour and so easy to apply.
I love love this eyeshadow, as it's cream based it goes on so smoothly and blends so well without drying out your lids, i've actually been using this as a highlight for the corner of my eyes, I watched one of Ruth from 'a model recommends' videos and she featured this and how good it was for highlighting the inner corner and honestly it works, the wand like application makes it so easy to, its not fiddly and the application is quick, it has become a staple in my makeup bag for brightening up my eyes!
I'm looking forward to making some more purchases in February, but now I have a holiday to pay for (marbs marbs marbs) I can't see myself spending copious amounts on products I don't reaaaaaaaally need.. (who am I kidding)
what were your jan favs?!
