I'm starting to really adjust to the idea that it is now December and soon the TV listings will be released for christmas, and all the special films will start popping up on our big screens *eeeeek* Christmas films are definitely one of my favourite things about this season, nothing better than curling up infront of the TV in your onesie with a blanket and a hot chocolate watching a good ol' snowy christmas film..
So if you're not quite yet in the christmas spirit (and really, you ought to be by now) then you need a good few christmassy films to get you all you jolly and festive.
so I decided to come up with a list of my favourite christmas films, and almost a bit of a 'must watch' over December, and don't worry if you don't have these at home.. most of these will be on TV or Netflix.
1. The Holiday (2006)
nothing better than a good ol' rom-com. This one is debatable with a lot of people as to whether its a true Christmas film, Personally I like the film enough to put it into this category..
2. Love Actually (2003)
another rom-com cos you can't get enough of them, and there's no arguing over the fact this is most certainly a Christmas film, and Hugh Grant as prime minister? oh yes please.
3. Elf (2003)
one of the kids films that even adults find themselves chuckling to.. I know a lot of people don't actually like the film, but I have such a soft spot for it.
4. Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
this is a classic, you HAVE to see it.
5. How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
this is a film you can watch over & over and never get bored, absolute classic.
6. Mrs Miracle / Call Me Mrs. Miracle (2009 & 2010)
Two seperate films linking together, romantic comedy not a lot of people have seen!
7. Santa Claus 1,2 & 3
a classic series of films all about santa and his elves
8. The Family Stone
this film I find a lot of families can relate to, it'll make you cry & laugh.. and remind you of what Christmas is all about.
9. Nativity
when I first came across this film I was scrolling through my TV guide a couple of christmas' ago trying to decide what film to flick on, I didn't have high expectations for this but was pleasantly surprised, as its set in England you can really find yourself relating to it.. its comical and based on school children.
10. Home Alone (all four of them)
a Christmas classic for eveyone, you're bound to see this on TV at some point.. Home alone is a long running festive favourite in most household.
there you have it, my top 10.. what are yours?
