REVIEW: Urban Decay Ultimate Basics Palette

This palette has been ridiculously anticipated and rightly so, it is honestly beautiful. Being a huge fan of Urban Decay, and in particular their eyeshadow palettes (this may be the sixth one I own?) I was super keen to get my hands on this when I noticed it on the Urban Decay website.. much to my dismay it was sold out, but I signed up for an alert to get it once back in stock and it only took a week!

This may actually be my favourite palette yet, the beautiful rose gold detailing of the packaging really gives it that extra bit of something, Its packed inside with 12 shades, all of which are matte bar one, the lightest one which goes by the name of Blow and has more of a satin/shimmer finish. The thing I really love about this palette is the colours are not all samey like some of their others, for example with the NAKED 3 you get purple/pink esque type shades.. with this you get a whole array of colours to create completely versatile looks but with shades that'll suit all skin tones.

The mini brush that comes in the pack, like most UD Palettes.. is handy, though I can't agree its overly good at blending and have found myself using my well loved Real Techniques Brush Set.

I think this palette is screaming out to all matte shadow lovers, this is perfect for basic day eyeshadow, but you can also create some beautiful looks for the evening.. (I recently used the 'extra bitter' for a lovely evening smokey effect)
